Salibello & Broder participates as host firm for BKR's 2009 Worldwide Meeting
NEW YORK - Standing in a room before 200 delegates representing 90 independent accounting firms from around the world, Sal Salibello, managing partner of Salibello & Broder, kicked off BKR International's Annual Worldwide Meeting at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City on Monday. View pictures of the event.
With the theme of the meeting focusing on the economic, and financial issues relating to businesses worldwide and the challenges and opportunities within the global marketplace in these turbulent times, Sal Salibello welcomed the crowd by discussing the culture, diversity and energy of New York City that is a representation of BKR's membership.
The event was an opportunity for firms to come together and discuss how to best serve its clients.
"It is important to us that we are able to offer our clients advice that will help them thrive in the competitive and ever-changing global marketplace," said Salibello. "In order for our clients to prosper outside our territory, we must be able to advise on legislative and business issues worldwide. The BKR annual conference had a truly global perspective and provided invaluable information on the particular issues that face all businesses involved in cross-border activities."
Sal Salibello returned to the podium on Tuesday as moderator of a panel discussing the current state of the legal/corporate structure with Valerie Demont, Esq. of Pepper Hamilton, customs and importing regulations with Frank Desiderio, Esq. of Grunfeld, Desiderio, Lebowitz, Silverman & Klestadt LLP and the current state of realty in the U.S. with Michael Stoler of Madison Realty Capital.
In addition there were speakers covering global M&A activity. Firms worldwide are seeking solutions to recover from the devastating global economy and establish a strong market position for the next wave of growth. Keynote speaker and guest was Dr. William Freund, Chief Economist Emeritus with the New York Stock Exchange, who gave a powerful message on the state of the U.S. financial system and what's ahead for the global economy.
Paul Seach, marketing manager at Salibello & Broder, was one of four presenters in the High Impact Marketing breakout session. Joining Dawn Weganaar and Wendy Nemitz from Ingenuity Marketing and Richard Quigley from Welch LLP in Ottawa, Canada, Seach discussed the benefits of using Google Analytics to interpret your web site's traffic and effective warm marketing practices.
Representing Salibello & Broder at the Monday Night at the Gala Dinner Dance were Gary Broder, Senior Partner, George Rush, Partner, Ross Rizzo, Partner, Tony Calabrese, Partner, Dan Zeman, Partner, Bob Hamilton, Senior Manager and Maria Isip, Senior Manager.
"For all BKR member firms, the need to provide clients with expert and up-to-the-minute information on worldwide business issues is essential," said Bob Rothenberg, chairman of BKR International and senior partner of London chartered accountants, Blick Rothenberg. "Our partners must be able to advise their clients on where the best opportunities exist, even if it is outside their home territory. This year's BKR annual conference clarified the current landscape of global business and how we, our businesses and our clients, are impacted by the global economy. Now more than ever, it is essential that our business decisions are made with a global perspective, while always ensuring that our profession sends a message of credible and independent expertise to the business world."
